Oh pride! Why bother yourself with disguise?
With subtle ease you raise your wicked head.
When humble seeks defeat, you dictate self instead,
Ruling forlorn subject, arranging sure demise.
In reckless salutation, you cleave to clever guise.
Relief from your prison heralds honor retread,
Only to return with stubborn vengeance widespread,
Expanding settled boundaries under watchful eyes.
Oh pride, you kill man before his rightful time,
Poisoning the mind, causing people to defend.
For pride, you only teach how to pretend.
We were not made to walk alone in your grime
Pride, prey upon us with puffery no longer,
For the universes one true Ruler is much stronger.
